George Samuel Montgomery Pettie
was born 3 Jun 1888 at Clones, where he lived the first half of his life. On
his christening record at St Peter's Anglican Church, his birthday is listed
as the 5th, and he was christened 19 Aug 1888. In the 1950's he moved to
Lincoln, Sunbury County, NB.

Lincoln, NB, on 31 Aug 1994, Mr. George S. Pettie, formerly of South Clones,
Queens County, NB, husband of the late Margaret (Woods) Pettie. Born June 5,
1888, he was a son of the late John and Elizabeth (Barnett) Pettie. Survived
by five sons, Douglas and wife Ann, Donald and wife Amelia, Raymond and Harold
all of Lincoln, George and wife Mildred of Mississauga, Ontario, four
grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Aside from his parents and wife he
was predeceased by three daughters, Helen, Margaret and Mildred, one son
Charles and one grandson Jonathan. He was the last surviving member of his
family of eleven.
Resting at Bishop's Funeral Home, 540 Woodstock Road, Fredericton, where
visitation will be held Thursday 709 pm and Friday 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral
service will be held from St. John's Anglican Church, Broad Road, Oromocto, on
Saturday at 2 pm. Rev. Ellis Jagoe officiating. Interment in the Lower Lincoln
Cemetery.
Donations to the Lower Lincoln Cemetery Association would be appreciated
by the family. There will be a tribute at the funeral home on Friday at 6:45
pm, conducted by the L.O.L. and the L.O.B.A.
George married Margaret Susan Wood, who was born in Coote
Hill, Queens County, NB in 1897. She died 22 Sep 1966 in Fredericton, York Co,
NB, and is buried in the Lower Lincoln Cemetery. Their children were born in
South Clones.
