came from other areas to teach in one of the community schools and those born
in one of the communities within the Base Gagetown area. You will find a
listing of the teachers who taught in the various community schools, linked
from the community pages.

School for two terms: the 2nd Term 1908, and the 2nd Term 1912. She also
taught at the West Jerusalem School for the term 1913-1913. She m.
Frank Jewett and resided in the greater Fredericton area.

Henry was aged 49 yrs in 1901, and was m. to Mary Jane Hamilton, and had 7
children living at home.
He taught at the South Clones School for the term ending Dec 1885
and the following term in 1886. He the taught at Dunns Corner School
for the Winter 1887 to Summer 1888 terms, the Winter 1896 to Summer 1897
terms, and back to South Clones School for the first term in 1889

BARNETT, Dorothy Eunice
- d/o
John Leonard Barnett & his wife Idora Edith Webb of New Jerusalem. Dorothy
taught at the Summer Hill School from Sep 1950 to Jun 1951, and at the
Coote Hill School for the 1951-1952 terms.
Shortly thereafter she entered preparations to be a teaching missionary in
Africa (Angola and The Belgim Congo). Upon the death of her father she
returned home to stay, and has since m. John Carron. They reside in Moncton,
where she has taught school for a number of years, and is now retired.

BOGLE, George - was the s/o
James Bogle and Ann Barnett, and resided in New Jerusalem. The 1871 census of
Petersville Parish said he was aged 24 years, b. in NB, a member of the Church
of England, and a teacher. By 1891, he was listed as Bogle, George, ae 46, b,
NB, bith parents b. in Ireland, a Presbyterian, and a School Teacher.
St Peters Anglican Church records his christening as: 1846 Jun 14 / George
/ James & Ann / BOGLE / farmer / b. 7 Nov 1843. His stone in the Hill Baptist
Cemetery, New Jerusalem, Queens Co, NB reads: 1845-1907.
He m. Emily G. SHERWOOD, of Bonny River, Charlotte County, NB.
Although she is said to have d. in 1887, there is a burial in the United
Church Records for a Mrs. George Bogle, of Jerusalem (& buried there, aged 60
yrs) who d. 13 Jan 1907. They had at least three children.
George was teaching by 1871, and taught in the Summer Hill School
on two occasions, ten years apart: Winter - Summer 1882; 1st Term - 2nd Term
1892 (Believe these terms are Jan - Jun & Sep - Dec.) He taught at the West
Jerusalem School for the term 1884-1884. He may also have been teaching at
the North Clones School in 1889 and 1890 - when a George Boyle shows on
the listing.
BOGLE, Samuel - was the s/o
James Bogle and Ann Barnett, and resided in New Jerusalem. Samuel / ae 11 yrs
in 1861 / native / CofE / Samuel / ae 20 yrs in 1871 / unmarried / teacher /
both from the Petersville Parish census records. In the 1881 census he had
only gained 6 years.)
He was b. about 1845, in Queens Co. According to family lore, Samuel moved
to Saint John to live, and operated a trucking business there, but no further
data has been found for him, to date. He is not on the 1891 census with the
rest of the family.

E. Burgess and Edith E. Inch. Margaret (1891-1926) was the first wife of
Caswell Vallis. They lived in New Jerusalem, and Caswell later moved to
Glenwood. She was listed as Maggie Florence, aged 10 yrs, on the 1901 census
of Petersville Parish.
She taught at the Armstrongs Corner School in 1911
BURTT, Annie - d/o Charles
Samuel Burtt and Ruth Elder. Annie was b. in New Jerusalem and moved with her
family to Blissville. She m. Byron Carr.

census of Petersville Parish lists her as Emily V., aged 25 yrs, a teacher in
the Common School. Parents, John J.P. Corbett and Jane [---], and she was
Church of England. The 1901 census, for the same parish, adds her birth date
as 04 Oct 1865 in Ireland, and she was listed as Free Baptist.
She taught at the Dunns Corner School for Winter 1885 and Summer
1886 terms.

census of Petersville Parish lists her as Louisa Lorne., aged 19 yrs, a
teacher in the Common School. Parents, John J.P. Corbett and Jane [---], and
she was Church of England. The 1901 census, for the same parish, adds her
birth date as 16 Apr 1871 in New Brunswick, and she was still listed as Church
of England. She m. [---] Adamson in 1906.
She taught at the South Clones School for terms in 1887 & 1888, and
in the Summer Hill School for 1st Term 1890, and for 1st Term 1898 to
1st Term 1899. She taught at the Dunns Corner School for the Winter
and Summer 1893 terms, and the Winter 1894 term (& prob. Summer 1894), and at
at the North Clones School for the 1904 Jun term, and at the Coote
Hill School for the 1904 to Dec 1906* terms, then back to the
Dunns Corner School for the Sep - Dec 1906 term. (She was at Dunns Corner
at that date.)

wife Ada Isetta Hamilton, listed with them on the 1901 Petersville Parish
census. She was b. 17 May 1897 in New Brunswick.

Aug 1887 in New Brunswick.
