A Note from Sharon and Alan Rollins on 6/4/2003. They list Elsie Hastings may have been born in New Jerusalem in March 1877. I Have a death Certificate on her from Massachusetts which just lists New Brunswick. She married George S Rollins of New Hampshire & then moved to Massachusetts some years later. Her father was Thomas Hastings and her mother was Emily Lourie (or Lowery or Lowrey or Lowrie - I don't know which). Elsie's son Richard was given the middle name of Lowery, but Family Search org lists Emily as Lourie. Elsie's death certificate gives her mother as Emily Lowrie. can anybody clear this up.

Reported that George was blown from his mothers arms during the Saxby Gale in 1869 and they could not find him for a while.-- The Government Fair was held in the fall, perhaps about the first of October. It was held on the Broad Road and was largely attended by people of surrounding country. In 1869 during the fair, there was the high winds, known as the Saxby Gale. Two women, living alone lost the roof off their home and struggled for refuge to a neighbors home. A woman with two or three children, whose husband was at the Fair also made her way to a nearby house when the roof of her home sailed away. They managed to get in through the window.--
