Toner Family

 

James Toner(b.1816, Dunmore, Parish of Drumachose, Co. Derry) & Catherine Mullan(b.1814, Dunbeg, same parish & county), arrived  N.B.  June 1841, lived on Nevers Road until 1853, then moved to the Guthrie  Road in what is now CFB Gagetown.  In my time on Her Majesty's  service, the military maps marked "Toners Field" on the Guthrie Road,  the location of the farm.  Prior to the expropriations, we took the  hay and picked the berries on the farm, and tried to do so after, but  the Provosts were quite active that close in to the base proper.
